Integration guide

Zoom

Schedules each live class as a Zoom meeting, sends the join link to invited learners, moves or cancels the meeting when the class changes, and reads the participant report after the class so attendance is recorded against each learner by email address.

What you need

  • A paid Zoom account (the participant report needs a paid plan).
  • A Zoom account administrator who can create a Server-to-Server OAuth app in the Zoom App Marketplace.
  • A licensed Zoom user to act as the host account. A teacher named on a class hosts it instead and must also be a licensed user on the same Zoom account.

Bodhaka Lumen asks for nothing beyond this list. Credentials you enter are encrypted with your workspace’s own key and are never shown again after saving.

How to connect

  1. In the Zoom App Marketplace, open Develop, then Build App, and choose Server-to-Server OAuth.
  2. Add the scopes listed above and activate the app.
  3. Copy the Account ID, Client ID and Client Secret from the app’s App Credentials page.
  4. In Bodhaka Lumen, open Integrations, choose Zoom in the guided setup, and enter the Account ID, Client ID, Client Secret and the host account’s email address.
  5. Select Try the connection. A 15 minute test meeting is scheduled for tomorrow under the host account, read back and deleted straight away. Nobody is invited.
  6. Switch the integration on.

How to disconnect and delete data

  1. In Bodhaka Lumen, open Integrations, then My integrations, choose the Zoom integration and select Remove. The stored Client ID and Client Secret are deleted from your workspace.
  2. In the Zoom App Marketplace, deactivate or delete the Server-to-Server OAuth app. This revokes all access immediately, even if a copy of the credentials existed elsewhere.
  3. Meetings already created stay in your Zoom account until you delete them there. Attendance already recorded stays in Bodhaka Lumen as part of the class record until your administrator deletes it or asks us to.

To have any data that came through this integration deleted from Bodhaka Lumen, your workspace administrator can delete it, or write to support@bodhakalumen.com. See the Privacy Policy.
