Integration guide

Stripe

Takes payment for paid courses through Stripe Checkout, one time or by subscription, gives payments back when a refund is made, and receives Stripe’s notices so a learner’s access follows the real payment status.

What you need

  • A Stripe account.
  • A restricted API key with the permissions below.
  • A webhook endpoint added in the Stripe Dashboard so payment notices reach your workspace.

Permissions requested and why

Permission or scopeWhat it allowsWhy it is needed
Checkout Sessions: WriteCreate checkout pagesTaking a learner to a page where they pay for a course.
Refunds: WriteGive payments backRefunding a course payment from Billing.
Balance: ReadRead the balanceProving the key works when the connection is tried, without creating anything.

Bodhaka Lumen asks for nothing beyond this list. Credentials you enter are encrypted with your workspace’s own key and are never shown again after saving.

How to connect

  1. In the Stripe Dashboard, open Developers, API keys, and create a restricted key with the permissions above.
  2. In Bodhaka Lumen, open Integrations, choose Stripe, and paste the key.
  3. Add the webhook address shown in the guided setup in Stripe under Developers, Webhooks, and paste the signing secret back into the setup.
  4. Try the connection, then switch it on.

How to disconnect and delete data

  1. Remove the integration in Bodhaka Lumen. The stored key and signing secret are deleted. New payments stop.
  2. In the Stripe Dashboard, roll or delete the restricted key and delete the webhook endpoint.
  3. Payment records already created stay in Bodhaka Lumen and in Stripe, because they are financial records the law may require you to keep.

To have any data that came through this integration deleted from Bodhaka Lumen, your workspace administrator can delete it, or write to support@bodhakalumen.com. See the Privacy Policy.
