WhatsApp through Twilio

Sends course updates, reminders and payment messages on WhatsApp using your approved templates, and follows each message until it is delivered and read. Only people who have agreed to WhatsApp messages and have a number are written to.

What you need

  • A Twilio account with a WhatsApp sender approved by Meta.
  • Approved WhatsApp message templates.

Permissions requested and why

Permission or scopeWhat it allowsWhy it is needed
Account SID and auth tokenFull API access for the accountTwilio credentials are not limited by scope. They are used only to send WhatsApp messages, read their delivery status and read your templates.

Bodhaka Lumen asks for nothing beyond this list. Credentials you enter are encrypted with your workspace’s own key and are never shown again after saving.

How to connect

  1. In the Twilio Console, copy the Account SID and auth token (or create an API key).
  2. In Bodhaka Lumen, open Integrations, choose Twilio, and enter them with your WhatsApp sender number.
  3. Set the incoming message address shown in the guided setup on your WhatsApp sender in Twilio, so delivery notices and replies reach your workspace.
  4. Read your templates into the setup and mark what each is used for, then send a test to your own number.

How to disconnect and delete data

  1. Remove the integration in Bodhaka Lumen. The stored credentials are deleted and no further messages are sent.
  2. In the Twilio Console, rotate the auth token or delete the API key, and clear the incoming message address.
  3. A record of messages already sent stays in Bodhaka Lumen as part of the communication log until your administrator deletes it.

To have any data that came through this integration deleted from Bodhaka Lumen, your workspace administrator can delete it, or write to support@bodhakalumen.com. See the Privacy Policy.
